M36B1
Jackson
The M36B1
tank destroyer,
formally 90 mm
Gun Motor Carriage, M36, was
an American tank destroyer used
during World War II.
The M36B1 combined the hull of the M4A3 Sherman tank ,
which used the M4 Sherman's reliable
chassis and drivetrain combined with sloped armor,
and a new turret mounting the 90 mm gun M3.
The
specificity of the B1 is that the turret is mounted on a Sherman M4A3 hull
due to a lack of M10 hull. About 200 models were produced from October to
December 1944.
It
is armed with a 90mm gun.
