Sturmtiger
Prototype
The
Sturmtiger is an assault gun based on a Tiger I chassis. Around 20 were
produced between 1943 and 1945.
It is armed with a 380mm rocket-propelled mortar and a hull machine gun.
The
prototype version has an additional armour plate at the front of the hull,
a barrel with no counterweight, a different gunshield than the production
version, the Feifel air filter system on the engine deck and the early
road wheels.
