WWII - VEHICLE LIST 1/56 (28mm) scale Bolt Action

M3A1 Lee  Late (USA, WW2)

This is the molded-hull version of the M3, the M3A1. Riveted-hull tanks pose problems in combat. Enemy rounds can cause the outer portion of the rivet to be sheared off, allowing the remainder of the rivet to become a lethal projectile inside the vehicle. For these reasons, Ordnance was very interested in cast armor construction.

American Locomotive began production of the M3A1 in February 1942. the M3A1 was produced in only 300 units.

Differences from the mid version, engine exhaust system, turret ventilation, hull ventilation, M3 long gun, rear hatch opens downwards instead of upwards, removal of side doors, T41 tracks with solid wheels
