M3A3
and M3A5 Lee Medium Tank - USA, WWII
The M3 Lee Medium Tank went through a large number of variations
throughout it's production run with the M3A3 and M3A5 variants included
here being most recognisable due an alternative engine being used
resulting in a substantially different engine deck. At this stage of the
M3 development the side doors were being phased out too so the model shows
the panels welded in place. The M3A3 and M3A5 were essentially the same
vehicle with the exception of the M3A3 having a welded hull while the M3A5
had a riveted hull.
