The Panzerkampfwagen
III,
commonly known as the Panzer
III,
was a medium tank developed
in the 1930s by Germany,
and was used extensively in World War II.
Panzer
III Ausf. B -
Prototype 15 ton vehicle; some saw service in Poland. Entered service
in 1937 and put out of service in 1940. They were reused as a training
vehicle after 1940. They had slightly thicker armour, and an eight-wheel
suspension rather than the five-wheel suspension with coil springs.
